GNC FDD – Franchise Information, Costs and Fees


Type of Business
The franchise described in this Disclosure Document is for the establishment and operation of a GNC retail store specializing in the sale of vitamins, minerals and other food supplements, natural cosmetics and other health management items.


Corporate Information
GNC Holdings, LLC is a Delaware limited liability company. Their principal business address is 300 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15222. They conduct business under their corporate name and under the names “GNC,” “General Nutrition Centers,” and “GNC Live Well.”  Their immediate predecessor was General Nutrition Corporation, which was the franchisor from January 1, 2009 to October 7, 2020.


Investment
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a single new GNC franchise store ranges from $153,758 to $380,173; to convert a single company-owned store to a franchise store ranges from $112,258 to $459,173; and to add a GNC Smoothie Bar to a franchise store ranges from $26,930 to $57,000. This includes the following amounts that must be paid to franchisor or affiliate: from $134,550 to $313,050 for a new GNC franchise store; from $93,050 to $392,050 to convert a company-owned store to a franchise store; and from $26,930 to $57,000 to add a GNC Smoothie Bar to a franchise store. If you enter into an Area Development Agreement, you must also pay franchisor or affiliate a development fee equal to the sum of the following: (i) a development rights fee, which will be determined by franchisor and will vary depending on the location of the development area, (ii) a fee equal to the initial franchise fee for the first GNC store you agree to develop, and (iii) a fee equal to 50% of the total initial franchise fees for the remaining GNC stores that you agree to develop. The fees in (ii) and (iii) will be credited toward the initial franchise fees due for the stores as long as you develop and open the stores in accordance with the terms of the Area Development Agreement. You must open a minimum of two GNC stores under the Area Development Agreement.
